# What You'll Need:
→ Cheese Buns
01 - 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese, approximately 1/4 inch thick and 3 to 4 inches wide
02 - Nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper
→ Pickle Layer
03 - 12 to 14 long dill sandwich pickle slices, drained and patted dry
→ Sandwich Fillings (optional)
04 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
05 - 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
06 - 2 slices fresh tomato
07 - 4 slices deli turkey or ham
# Step-by-Step Directions:
01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray.
02 - Arrange 4 slices of cheddar cheese on the prepared sheet, spacing each slice well apart. Layer pickle slices evenly on top of each slice, overlapping to cover most of the cheese surface.
03 - Place one slice of cheddar cheese atop the pickles on each cheese base, gently pressing to encase the pickles.
04 - Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbling at the edges, and turning golden brown.
05 - Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes until the cheese buns have set and are manageable to handle.
06 - If desired, spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the inside surfaces of each cheese bun. Add tomato slices and deli meat according to preference.
07 - Carefully sandwich fillings between two cheese-pickle buns, pressing lightly to secure.
08 - Serve immediately while warm and crisp for optimal texture.
