Recipe FAQs

How do I achieve the mousse’s airy texture?

Carefully folding whipped cream and beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture ensures a light and fluffy consistency without deflating the airiness.

Can I substitute ingredients for dietary restrictions?

Use pasteurized eggs or omit eggs entirely for safety, and choose dairy alternatives if needed; however, texture and flavor may vary slightly.

What is the best way to melt the chocolate?

Melting chocolate gently over a double boiler prevents scorching and ensures a smooth, lump-free mixture.

How long should the mousse chill before serving?

Chilling for at least 2 hours allows the mousse to set properly and develop its creamy texture.

What garnishes complement the mousse?

Shaved chocolate, cocoa powder, fresh berries, or mint leaves add visual appeal and complementary flavors to the mousse cups.
